ANNE BERNECKER
Reuse, Reinvent, Revive: Slow Couture Collection by Anne Bernecker.
The humble beauty of the past is reclaimed, reinvented by merging with luxurious craftsmanship and revived to create unique, one-of-a-kind garments.
Anne started the collection 2015, while she was still living in London, in a quest to create fashion, which is sustainable. There are so many beautiful clothes and materials in circuit already and rather than adding to the never-ending cycle of using resources and producing new materials, she wants to celebrate the existing. She uses vintage garments and dead-stock materials, which already havea story to tell, and is giving them another lease of life by adapting them and adding high-end, hand embroidered embellishment.
Each garment is genderless, non-seasonal and one-of-a-kind, as the vintage garments and hand-embellishment all vary a little. Also, each style and its particular embroidery is limited, adding to the uniqueness of the collection.
For AW26 Anne continues to contrast the masculine and the feminine through tailoring. Her focus on upcycling and craftsmanship delivers a look that is both fresh and effortlessly stylish. This season her luxurious hand-embellishments go beyond Swarovski crystals to include a play with volume and silhouette.
